AutoFace Privacy Notice
Plain-language information about how AutoFace handles profile, verification and product-use data.
Data minimisation
AutoFace collects account, profile, relationship-preference, verification-outcome and product-use data needed to provide and protect the service.
Profile pictures
Your profile picture is stored with your AutoFace profile and is used to present your profile and, when you choose face verification, as the source image for a one-to-one face comparison.
Biometric Verification
If you choose Face Verification, AutoFace uses Amazon Rekognition to perform a live camera liveness check and compare the resulting reference image with your profile picture. This technical processing can constitute special category biometric data when used to confirm your identity.
AutoFace uses this data only to verify that a live person matches the profile photo. It is not used to search for you across other AutoFace members, rank attractiveness or calculate compatibility. AutoFace does not create an AWS face collection for member identification.
Before a verification session starts, AutoFace asks for an explicit biometric-verification consent statement and records the consent version, verification session status, provider, verification outcome and relevant security-event information.
Third-party processing
Amazon Web Services processes the Face Liveness and face-comparison request as AutoFace's verification technology provider. AutoFace should maintain appropriate processor terms, security controls and documented retention settings for this processing.
Retention & deletion
AutoFace aims to minimise biometric processing and retain only information needed for verification, security and compliance. Detailed production retention periods for profile photos, verification records and provider-held liveness data must be documented before general release. You can request deletion of your AutoFace account and associated personal data subject to any information AutoFace must retain for legal or security purposes.
Your choice and rights
Face Verification is presented as an optional trust feature. Where AutoFace relies on explicit consent for biometric verification, you can refuse the check or withdraw consent for future biometric processing. Withdrawal does not make processing that already occurred while consent was valid unlawful. Data-protection rights may include access, correction, deletion and complaint rights depending on the circumstances.
Compatibility
Structured Atlas answers are used for compatibility. Authenticity and biometric verification evidence remain separate from compatibility scoring.
Version
This privacy notice is identified as 2026-08-v1. AutoFace should publish controller contact details, final retention periods, applicable lawful basis, international-transfer information and complaint/contact routes before production launch.
